Throughout 20 years of coaching hockey players in Vancouver, John has used various types of targets while coaching players. Unfortunately, there were no suitable hockey targets for players of all ages and levels, and limitations to shooting targets currently available on the market.

For instance, steel plate targets are heavy and cumbersome to install. Shooting tarps covering the entire goalpost are difficult to carry and install. Bungee cord shooting tarps stretch and loosen over time, while also requiring manual fixing when shot at repeatedly with a puck. Magnetic shooting targets must be reattached after each shot, disrupting practice sessions. Additionally, these targets tend to be flat, making it challenging to practice shooting from the side while being able to hear the sound of shots.
